Journal 21- a snowy scene
I walked out into the yard behind my house, wearing a fluffy, warm, cozy overcoat. Before I could have even blinked, the wind blew a few snowflakes into my eye. I opened my eyes again and was almost blinded by the brightness and sparkle of the white, 5 inch deep snow. It was much cooler than I expected. I knew it would be chilly, but I was shivering despite my overcoat, furry boots, 3ft scarf, knitted cap, and even ear muffs! After just standing around staring at the snow for a while, I finally decided to walk around in it. I started by going off into a wooded area where the snow topped off parts of the tress and icicles hung from the bottoms of the trees. It was truly a sight to see; so much beauty came from the scene it almost felt like I was in a movie or a painting or extremely photoshopped picture. Despite the fact that it was bustling cold outside, I felt all warm inside. I could smell wood burning off in the distance and it smelt so good that I almost went to find it, but didn't for I knew if people I didn't know randomly came to my bon fire it would be a little creepy and weird. My dog was standing in front of me, wagging its tail and we started playing in the snow together. Innocence arose from within me. I felt like a child playing in the snow for the first time. It was such a great feeling. I built snowmen and angels and made snow forts. I also threw a few snowballs at my dog for a good laugh, but she liked it so it wasn't hurting her or anything. I was smiling nonstop throughout all of this. Finally, I took a deep breath then went back inside into my warm house and got all cozy around the fire place while sipping hot coco. It was a nice day.
