Journal #14

Living in Ben Franklin's time would be a major difference than the time we live in. Then adding the fact that you are Benjamin Franklin's apprentice and that is an even bigger difference, but it would be a rather interesting life to watch the things he does become major parts of our American history.

Since Ben Franklin was a pretty big inventor and all(you know, in case you were unaware), he would probably make me help him out with all of his inventions. I would probably be the first person he tries all of his ideas out on. I say "make" but I would willingly do it, too, unless some of these things were extremely sketchy looking and possibly fatal, then I would definitely have to be forced to do those things. I am not a very brave, risk-taking person at all. Sometimes it would kind of stink, though, because it would get kind of boring having to watch someone do the same thing over and over, but slightly changing one thing about it until it works. You may even start to think that Franklin is crazy because he is trying to make things that were thought "impossible" during those times, but sometimes you got to do what you got to do

Then, it would also be cool to see Ben Franklin make something for the 1000th time, but then it actually working for the first time like it is supposed to. Wouldn't it be so cool to see Franklin just messing around with a bunch of trinkets and then all of a sudden, it works. Then, trying to tell everyone what had happened and what he had invented. The people would either be in awe, think you're crazy, or be confused. Also, it could be hard to explain something he invented considering there was nothing else like that in the world before. You would be there while some of the more important inventions were being made, while history was being created.
