Though, I'd rather not give adults ideas on how to punish me if I do something they consider bad, I have thought of some ideas that would probably be good ones that get would get to the point.
There are some people who are lucky enough to have their parents pay for the gas. (which seems kind of ridiculous to me sometimes, but maybe my family just doesn't have a lot of money.) The parents can just not pay for their children's gas or insurance for a little bit.
If the child texts a lot, I wouldn't say take away the phone completely because phones are good for emergencies and can be quite important, but get rid of unlimited texting and calling for a little bit if your cell phone company will allow that. If the child goes over the amount of texts they are allowed to receive, they have to pay for the extra money that it coasted.
Another big factor I feel here is just who the child is and what they care about the most. I mean, punishments these days are leaning more towards taking facebook and internet access away, but also it just depends on the child. There are some teenagers or children that don't use the internet that much, so obviously taking it away isn't going to punish them that much. I feel like whatever is going to grab the kids attention and make them not do what they did anymore is how parents need to punish their kids. Parents generally know their children, so all they have to do is use a little thinking power. Parents also might want to watch out, though, because if they use too many strict punishments the kids can either rebel (which isn't helping the cause) or begin to hate their parents. We all need a little freedom from time to time, so take into action what you are doing by punishing your child.
