The Old Man and the Sea- Required #6

Everyone knows how famous and classic this book is, and most schools have students read it, whether it is for honors english or a regular enlgish class.

Well, first of all Ernest Hemingway is an extremely famous author and writer. If there is any American that has not heard of him, then I shake my head in shame to them (unless they are too poor to go to school, or something like that, but you get my drift). HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE HEARD OF HIM? Anyways, he is quite witty. So even if it weren't The Old Man and the Sea, we'd be reading something of his, and probably will be ready of things of his for school

It is timeless because it is about courage and strength and hard work! Hard work should be always valued and should be taught to people in school so they know that 1)they have it pretty good, and 2) so they can provide and do hard work. It is also good to have courage. It sucks to be too afraid to do something. Take it from me who has had plenty of first hand experience from that. You cannot just live your life in fear, then you can never venture out. It is better to take a chance and make mistakes than to have never taken that chance and regret not doing that! Courage gives you confidence and makes your life worth living. It also shows determination. Whenever I care about something, I am extremely determined and want to be the best I can be!

The characters also are important to why we still read this. It is showing being caring towards the people you love. It shows how much you miss them when you are gone. It is really relatable in that sense and I like that a lot. Books, songs, movies, and practically anything are always so great when you can relate to them. I love doing that to things and other people do too.
