The Old Man and the Sea- Required #4

I think the hero would be the old man, but I also think that the young boy can be a hero to the old man as well.

The old man is extremely heroic because he overcomes so many things and has worked so hard to be able to catch fish again after 84 days of nothing. He has gone through so much stress to catch the fish. He also used an extreme amount of strength and could do things that I don't think I would be able to do. The old man is super determined and hard working.

I think that he definitely has a lot of courage, is way determined, and over all just a strong, hard working guy. He has fought fish and sharks just so he can catch something since he hasn't caught anything in 84 days. Not only is this already difficult enough that most people cannot do, but he is doing it at such an old age (Though the age was never specifically said at any part in this book.)

I would also like to talk about how the young boy is a hero to the old man. He is really important to the old man, and the old man is extremely important to him of course. The young boy feeds him and makes sure he has everything the old man needs. He knows that the old man is not very good at taking care of himself, even if the old man doesn't believe it himself. He also provides someone for the old man to talk to and love. The old man doesn't really mention any other people that he misses or that he really cares about besides the young boy. The old man even mentioned in the book how the young boy keeps him alive and willing. It is really precious to see how much they love each other and care about each other. So really, if it weren't for the boy the man wouldn't have been able to do what he has done to be considered the hero of the book!
